Farmhouse Chic (sort of)
For this miniature (dollhouse), I wanted to use the furniture I had made. I
had been participating in many miniature groups on Facebook and watching
many miniature-related videos on YouTube. I especially became interested in
the artist Julie Warren. She resides in the UK and has many years of
experience with miniatures. Her videos on how to make miniature furniture
are detailed and easy to follow. I subsequently bought 4 of her books and
yes, was able to do a halfway decent job in making a few pieces of
furniture.
So with this in mind, I decided to use the "Farmhouse Chic" decor that was
popular at the time. I really thought I had achieved the look of this decor,
but looking back at the dollhouse, I don't think it happened. Well, maybe a
little, but not in comparison to the real decor that shows this style.
I found the dollhouse on Craigslist for only $25. It was built in 1975 as
shown by the artist's signature on the bottom of the house! His business
card was still attached.
Check out the PHOTOS below! In some of the photos, I will list the
items that I made.
